Only if I'm the one buying the ticket...
For the most part, when an event or bookstore buys an author a plane ticket, they work within your schedule ... like, not having you fly out too early or late, or getting you home by a certain time...
Other than that, it's pretty much up to them. Hell, I've had tickets where I've had two different layovers...
